Did you know that multiple Balboa Park museums offer free general admission on rotating Tuesdays throughout each month to local San Diego residents?! This is a great option for kiddos not yet in school, homeschool families, or something to do after school for an hour or so. The Museums close by 4:30pm on Tuesdays, so keep that in mind when planning. We've even done the miniature model railroad museum after school from 4:00pm-4:30pm to enjoy a little something fun before dinner time. It can be a simple trip like that or a days event depending on your schedule.

*Some of these museums may only offer complimentary general admission to their permanent collections only and charge admission to special exhibitions, attractions, films, showings, and events. You will need to call in advance if a special event is going to be included if it falls on the resident free day.
